I'm considering the Slim Fast diet plan. I really need to lose weight fast and Slim Fast seems like a quick way to make it happen. Can you tell me the pros and cons of a Slim Fast diet? Does it really work?

Many people who need to lose weight quick consider the Slim Fast diet plan. The Slim Fast plan is basically a low calorie diet plan. Slim Fast diets recommend that you take a Slim Fast shake for breakfast and Lunch and eat a regular dinner. The calorie range varies but is usually between 1200 and 1500 calories for women and slightly higher for men.
 
The problem with depending exclusively on a Slim Fast shake for meals is that you may feel deprived. Too few calories for breakfast and lunch combined with the lack of real food until dinner is a recipe for failure. Most people lose control and binge late in the afternoon or evening when they're most vulnerable to over-eating.
 
However, Slim Fast does make an excellent snack and should be considered as a between-meal snack rather than a meal replacement. Some people use Slim Fast for breakfast as a meal replacement and that's OK since some people tend to skip breakfast.
 
If used properly, Slim Fast is an excellent product for weight loss. Most Slim Fast shakes range between 220 and 250 calories. Slim Fast is fortified with vitamins and makes an excellent between meal snack or lunch dessert. 
 
The trick is to plan your diet with real food at the proper calorie limitation so you can lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. Most women should plan an intake of 1200 to 1400 calories to make this happen and the intake for men should range between 1500 and 1800 calories. Of course the calorie limitation depends on current size and activity level.  Make your own diet plan. Write down the foods that you like along with calorie value. Include a Slim Fast shake and limit your calorie intake. At the end of each week, you will see the pounds come off.
