Over-eating on junk food is a habitual
problem for many who are trying to lose weight. Eliminating junk food
from your diet is the key to losing weight. Most people are over-fed
simply because of eating too many convenience foods. Below are some tips
to help you with eating too much and especially eating too much junk
food.
- Avoid Lunch Buffets and Office
Parties
Buffets and office parties are
notorious for over-stuffing yourself. The best advice we can give for
those who suffer from eating too much junk food is to avoid these
events. Junk food to a food-aholic is like beer to an alcholic. To avoid
eating too much, eliminate yourself from the situation.
- Avoid Over-Eating by not Buying
Junk Food
If family members don't normally
eat junk food, don't buy baked
goods, pastry, chips or other high calorie junk food. You can ALWAYS treat yourself to something sweet and fatty once or twice a week, but don't keep it around the house.
If family members aren't willing to
give up eating their junk food, you should hide all goodies in places
where you do not regularly visit. You can avoid over-eating simply by
keeping tempting foods out of sight.
- Train Family Members not to
Over Indulge
If family members are eating all
the goodies in a short time, DON'T BUY MORE. Wait until the next scheduled time to go grocery shopping. This will train family members not to over indulge in junk food because once eaten, they'll have to wait until the next time you go grocery shopping.
- Eating Fast Food is NOT all
BAD
Not all fast food restaurants are
bad. It depends on what you select. Grilled chicken sandwiches, grilled chicken and rice bowl, sandwiches with no cheese and small amount of mayonnaise, fat free or baked chips, diet soda or water, salads with light dressing are available
in most restaurants
