Any diet plan that claims lemon, vinegar, grapefruit or any other
substance will burn fat is not telling you the truth. There are many fad
diets coming on the market such as the Lemonade Diet or the New Cabbage
Soup diet. Avoid these diets like the plague.
There is no scientific evidence to
back up their claims. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
states that there are no magic bullets to losing weight.
Many fad diets like the Lemonade diet also claim to cleanse the body and
that cleansing promotes weight loss. This may sound good to the
unsuspecting but it has very little to do with weight loss. First of all,
the best way to cleanse your body is to eat a high fiber, low fat diet
which promotes elimination.
A balanced diet with limited amounts of animal fat, particularly red meat,
plus plenty of water and exercise is what really cleanses the body of
toxins. Unfortunately, this fact is usually misrepresented by folks
wanting to pedal their weight loss products to the nutritionally naive.
So why should you avoid the Lemonade diet and other fad diets like them?
-
Weakness and irritability
-
Cause loss of muscle instead of
fat
-
Lack nutrients that can only be
found in real foods not juices.
-
Result in very little weight loss
-
Any weight loss is quickly gained
back
-
Not recommend by health
professionals
-
Acids may cause other health related
problems
