Juice Diet - The Simple Truth!

 

Any juice diet can be considered a crash or fad diet. The reason why these diets are dangerous is that total calorie consumption is so low that it causes harm to your body.

 

Many people try a juice diet to lose weight fast but unfortunately, any weight that is loss will soon be gained back. A diet that consist only of juice or soup can be considered a starvation diet.  The adverse affects include:

 

  • menstrual irregularity

  • low blood pressure

  • gall bladder attacks

  • sudden death (in rare cases)

  • bad breath

  • hair loss

  • irritability

  • loss of muscle tone

As you can see from the list of ill affects, the juice diet is not worth trying. Instead you should stick to a sensible diet and consume 25% less calories than normal. This will result in a loss of 1/2 to 2 pounds per week which in normal for permanent weight loss.

 

For the average women, this means eating between 1200 and 1600 calories and men eating 1800 to 2200 calories. Of course, your genetic makeup, height, age, physical activity and current weight are all factors in how many calories your body normally burns each day.

 

The Hollywood juice diet and the cranberry juice diet are typical fad diets that lead to starvation and should be avoided at all cost. Though cranberry is known for fighting urinary tract infection, its has no value as a diet plan.

 

Forget the hype about using juice diet as a fast detox. Detoxifying your body does not make you lose weight. Detox and weight loss are two separate issues. However, there are companies who intentionally confuse the two so you buy their product. Don' be fooled.

 

Instead design a good diet plan for yourself that incorporates low fat foods and reduces calorie consumption. Do not drastically change your eating habits but gradually weed out the fatty foods.
