How Much Water to Lose Weight

I know that drinking water is important to lose weight. I weigh 160 pounds and I need to lose at least 20 pounds. The problem is I hate to drink water. I hate the taste and it's easier to drink Cool-Aid or soda than water. How much water should I drink to lose 20 pounds.

Dear Serena,

You should drink at least 8 cups of water. Water is  important for flushing kidneys and waste materials from your body. When the waste is properly flush from your system, your body runs more efficiently, and you naturally burn more calories.

Avoid flavored drinks. What your body needs is pure water with no sugar or additives. The best method is to drink the water quickly. Tasting water is not important. You are not drinking for taste but to keep your body healthy. A healthy body is a fat burning body. Try drinking a cup of water every hour until you drink at least 8 cups. Don't wait until you're thirsty, just drink on schedule. Soon you will get into the habit of drinking water regularly and you'll automatically drink 8 glasses a day.

Another question we get is how much calories need to be consumed each day to lose 1 or 2 pounds of fat per week. Keep your overall calorie consumption within 1200 to 1400 calories per day and exercise regularly for 30 minutes. Don't skip meals and eat 4 to 5 small meals per day. You'll lose weight quickly and get to your target weight.
