I'm writing in regards to the shift I work. I work from 11 am to 7 pm. I really have a hard time eating 3 healthy meals a day. I want to find out how to lose weight and keep it off and thought you could give some pointers. ~~ Jill Hi Jill,
Your metabolism works faster by eating at least 3
times a day. This is essential to losing weight and keeping your
metabolism running faster. Anything less and you starve
your body. That's why we recommend 3 meals plus 2 mini meals.
The reason why you should eat at least 3
times a day is to keep your metabolism running higher. Diets tend to
slow your metabolism down because eventually your metabolism will adjust to
the lower calorie demand. When you don't eat for long periods of time,
your metabolism will adjust and slow down. That's how your metabolism
works. Instead of burning 2000 calories a day, for example, your
body may only burn 1500 or 1600 calories a day.
Skipping meals is a common mistake when trying to
lose weight because people think that less meals equal weight loss.
However, less calories with meals spread through the day is the proper
way to lose weight. Eating at least 3 meals will also keep you
from binging, particularly towards the end of the night.
Because of your work schedule, you can put much of
your food in plastic containers and take it to work with you. You can
adjust the time you eat to anything that works for you. Though we
suggest times to eat, your schedule will dictate the time you really eat.
Preparing your meals each day will help you
stay on track to eating healthy. You can eat as late as 9 PM for
dinner because the calorie limitation in your diet plan is fairly low.
