I suddenly gained 50 pounds and I need to lose weight fast. Can you give me advice on how to lose weight quickly and keep it off? I don’t want to gain weight back after struggling to lose 50 pounds.

Though it’s tempting to lose 50 pounds fast, it’s best to take it one week at a time. If you lose a pound each week, you’ll get back to your target weight and learn good eating habits at the same time. Those lessons will keep you from gaining the weight back.

Unfortunately most people try to lose the weight all at once. They go on starvation and fad diets only to become frustrated and give up. Those who lose weight initially, usually gain the weight back as soon as they stop their dieting. No one can continually diet. You have to learn how to eat regular meals and exercise.

It takes sacrifice to lose weight because you have to eat fewer calories than you burn and that will almost always make you feel uncomfortable. So it’s important to integrate eating regular meals while exercising everyday so that you continually lose weight.

Decrease your overall calorie intake by one-third by writing down every food item you plan on eating for the day. Stick to the plan and limit your portion size. Plan on 4 to 5 small meals per day so that your energy and blood sugar stays level. Studies have shown that stable blood sugar helps burn fat and enhances weight loss.
