Dear Diet Tip, What do you know about the Green Tea Diet? I saw an ad about the weight loss benefits of green tea and I'm tempted to try it. Thought I would write in to you guys first. ~~ Julie Dear Julie, Green tea is made from the leaves of Camellia Sinensis and has a long history in China of more than 500 years. Green tea contains approximately 50 grams of caffeine per cup and acts on the central nervous system much like any herbal stimulant. Green tea is not a remedy for weight loss. Despite what you hear, green tea has been positioned as another weight loss cure but there is no scientific evidence to back this up. However, green tea
does have cancer fighting antioxidants and is great for boosting the
immune system. Ancient Chinese use green tea for many medical purposes.
As far as weight loss is concern, stick to a good diet plan and exercise
regularly for 20 to 30 minutes each time.
