Daily Calorie Intake and Liquid Candy

You must control your daily calorie intake to lose weight. Your body loses fat when you consume less calories each day than you take in. Most women burn between 1700 and 2000 calories per day and men burn 300 to 400 calorie more than women.

It's amazing how fast the daily calorie adds up when you're drinking soda or juice. A can of soda can have as many calories as a regular size chocolate bar.

A soda for lunch and dinner equates to 700 calories. That's the equivalent of 2 slices of pumpkin pie, and for many, that's a daily habit. A daily calorie intake of 700 extra calories in addition to your daily calorie burn can cause you to gain 4 pounds a month.

The biggest culprit to your waistline is the super size soda or
drink. These giant size servings contain giant size calories.
Super size drinks contain more than 600 calories compare to 170 calories for a small size. Don't be fooled, size does matter.

A can of soda is equivalent in sugar and calories to a regular
size candy. Below are tips to help you manage your soda consumption.

(1) Limit yourself to 1 regular soda or 1 diet soda each day.

(2) Never super size. Always order the smallest size soda.

(3) If possible, eliminate soda and drink water. You'll eliminate a daily calorie level that can climb as high as 1000 calories if you tend to drink a lot of soda.

(4) Water is the "real" resource your body craves. Drink a minimum of eight cups daily. Soda is a bad replacement for water. Water (not carbonated, sugar water) is needed to maintain proper body function and it has no calories.

(5) Limit juice consumption to 10 ounces in a given day. Juice is much more nutritious but notoriously high in calories.
