I Can't Lose Weight - Why?

 

Many subscribers ask us why they can't lose weight and there is a solution. There’s no mystery to losing weight. Weight loss happens by burning more calories than you take in. The trick is to eat fewer calories without starving and adopt new eating habits.

The reason why most people have trouble losing weight is they have no plan. It takes a plan of action to do anything worthwhile in life and that includes losing weight. It’s not enough to simply eat when you feel hungry

 Too many of us

  • Can’t stop snacking on favorite treats
  • Can’t avoid sugary or fatty treats
  • Can’t avoid salty treats

Unfortunately, we eat for all kinds of emotional reasons, such as:

  • Anger
  • Depression

All of the above factors account for the reason why many people don’t lose weight. But the solution is to place yourself on a good diet plan that does not exceed 1200 to 1400 calories for the average size woman or 1500 to 2000 calories for the average size man.  These calorie values will place you at a point that will allow you to burn more calories than you take in at a rate of 1 pound a week.  Slow but steady weight loss is the way to lose weight.

Plan every meal and read the labels for calorie and fat values. Plan 3 to 5 meals each day and eat foods that you like that are lower in calories and fat. There’s nothing wrong with having a steak for dinner, it’s the portion size that matters. Instead of having a big, 10 ounce steak for dinner, cut the portion by half.  Instead of eating cake for dessert, eat a half cup of low fat ice cream or pudding. Better yet, replace fresh fruits for sugary desserts.
