Calories Burned During Exercise - Calorie Table

I 'm trying to lose weight and I need to know how many calories burned during different types of exercises.  I heard that I can burn 500 calories during an entire 30 minute walk. Is that true? Can that many calories actually be burned by such a simple exercise.

Dear Trudy,

The calories burned during walking or any exercise depends on your weight and pace. If you weigh 150 pounds, you can burn close to 200 calories if you increase the pace to 4 miles per hour which is a very fast pace.

You can burn 400 calories with a fast  jog (9 minute mile) but it's better to walk at a fast pace consistently, 5 days or more a week for 30 minutes or more.
