  The best way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in. You can easily get to your desired weight by combining a good diet plan with a fat burning exercise routine. All you have to do is schedule daily time for your exercises and like the old Nike saying goes .... "Just Do it"

To burn the maximum amount of fat, your exercise routine should keep your heart rate in a range between 50% and 60% of it's maximum rate. This translate to 130 beats per minute for a 40 year old and 135 beats per minute for a 30 year old.

Some of the best practical exercises to burn calories are below:

  • Stationary Bike Riding

Schedule 30 minutes a day of bike riding in front of the television watching your favorite program. If you pedal at a moderate speed, you will burn approximately 400 calories. You'll burn over 800 calories if you pedal for an hour. The time also goes by quickly when you bike ride to your favorite TV or radio program.

  • Cycling Outdoor

Riding your bike outdoor is fun and will burn the same amount of calories as a stationary bike. The only problem is finding time to exercise. You can exercise any time with a stationary bike,  which is not true with outdoor cycling. You also need to cycle continuously when outdoors (no stopping) at a rate of 14 mph to burn 400 to 500 calories for a 30 minute period.

Unfortunately, walking does not burn nearly as many calories as cycling.

Walking at a fast pace for 1 hour only burns 250 calories, and you have to walk at a very fast pace. To make matters worse, most people walk too slowly and don't burn nearly the amount of calories as they would cycling.
